Family Support

Ealing DIP Family Support Service

It is not unusual for those close to a drug user to feel depressed, exhausted and overwhelmed by the situation.  There are often financial pressures attached, and if the user is also in trouble with the law, this can lead to family members feeling ashamed and isolated – and with nowhere to turn to for support.

The Family Support Service is a well established project that has been an integral part of DIP services for the past 5 years. It offers individual emotional support, counselling, information and practical advice to families and friends of drug using offenders in Ealing. We also support other professionals working in drug and criminal justice fields with client issues concerning dynamics within a family.

Family Support Service offers:

  • A safe space to talk and to be really listened to
  • An opportunity to look at your situation with someone experienced and impartial
  • One to one counselling and fortnightly group support
  • Coping skills training and educational workshops
  • Respite activities and social events
  • Support with making decisions about the future
  • Practical information
  • Referral to other specialist services

For further information, or to refer to the service, contact Julita Levinson, Service Co-ordinator, on 0208 799 2147 or e-mail jlevinson@ealingdaat.org.uk
