Workforce Development Training

Basic Drug and Alcohol Awareness Training

Ealing DAAT commission Basic Drug and Alcohol Awareness Training workshops throughout the year for all frontline staff within the Borough of Ealing who work with substance misuse services (this includes volunteers and mentors). In attending one of these training days you will increase your awareness of drug and alcohol misuse, gain confidence in recognising the effects of substance misuse and get to grips with which local and national treatment agencies can help.

The workshop will be highly practical and informative and will answer many of your questions, including the following:

  • What are the most commonly used and misused substances including effects, side effects and risks?
  • What are the local and national drug and alcohol resources, referral mechanisms & pathways?
  • How do I conduct effective screening for substance use?
  • What are the needs of minority ethnic communities regarding drug and alcohol misuse?
  • How does the theory apply to my day-to-day practice?
  • Using case-studies, good practice principles and incorporating local guidelines for supporting young people with drug and alcohol issues, this day will provide an excellent introduction to this highly relevant issue.

This course is very popular and places are quickly taken. If you would like to know when the next course is taking place or would like to be added to our mailing list, please contact: admin@ealingdaat.org.uk

Please note this is a 1 day training event. There is no cost involved.
